Selling Property with Williamson & Henry during Covid 19
In order to minimise public health risks and allow house sales and purchases to happen as safely as possible the following measures should be followed.
We are trying to keep the number of actual physical viewings of your property to a minimum. If you are selling your property with us we will come out to prepare a ‘Matterport’ virtual tour. Prospective purchasers will be provided with the Matterport tour prior to organising a viewing, and encouraged only to view properties after they have found out as much as they can about your property.
We will provide you with a copy of the guidance we are giving to those viewing properties headed “Viewing Property with Williamson & Henry during Covid 19”. If you do not yet have a copy please ask us for one. Please read this first before reading the rest of this document so you know what viewers will expect.
We assume you have not been advised that you should be shielding and are not in a “vulnerable” group. If you are, then you must consider the government guidance and make your own decision as to whether it is safe to have viewings of your house. Any viewings will be entirely at your own risk.
If you become unwell before a viewing, displaying any signs of Covid19, or have been advised by NHS Contact Tracers to isolate you MUST contact us as soon as possible to cancel or rearrange the viewing.
On the day of your viewing:
Viewers will be given an allocated time slot. If they arrive too late for their viewing and you have other viewings booked in, or other commitments, you will see we have warned them that they may not be able to view. Of course, even if they are late please still allow them to view if possible. They are unlikely to buy your property unless they have viewed it.
If you are accompanying a viewing please wear a face mask or face covering (such as a buff or snood covering both your mouth and nose) while in the company of the potential purchasers. You must supply your own mask or face covering.
Please see the guidance to those viewing. Please ask them to wash their hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser both before and after the viewing. Alternatively, they may use a new pair of disposable gloves while viewing. If so, they should take these away with them at the end of the viewing.
We recommend that you do not allow viewers access to your property unless (a) their face is covered and (b) they are wearing a new pair of disposable gloves or have cleaned their hands immediately before viewing. If they refuse to do this we recommend you do not allow them to view.
Please make sure that all doors and built in cupboards have their doors open. All blinds and curtains should be open. We have asked viewer’s to avoid touching anything with their hands and to seek your help if, for example, they want you to open a door. If viewers do touch anything they have been asked to tell you so you can disinfect the surface afterwards.
Any general discussion during the viewing about the property/area should be at a safe distance and should take place outside where possible.
Following the viewing, we recommend you clean all surfaces the viewers may have touched with standard cleaning products. This may include the doorbell, wash hand basin, door handles, etc.
